On the face of it, Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) leads a tranquil family life. But all is not as easy as it looks. She's married to a famous spy hunting television reporter Wilbur Wilson (Joel McHale) and has twin step kids, namely Rebecca (Rowan Blanchard) and Cecil (Mason Cook). Clearly, neither of the twins takes a real liking to their new mum and the biggest irony of Marissa's life is that she is married to a spy hunter who can barely spot a spy if he (or she) were living right under his name, and that's Marissa's biggest secret! She is a retired field agent for the OSS (Organization of Super Spies) and the erstwhile HQ of the disbanded Spy Kids division.

All is smooth sailing (relatively smooth anyways) until the super villain "The Timekeeper" (Jeremy Piven) threatens the well being of planet Earth. With the fate of the planet hanging in the balance, Marissa has no choice but to fall back into her previous life as a spy and the kids too inadvertently get dragged into it. With Armageddon looming large, Rebecca and Cecil must put their differences with Marissa aside and enlist in the battle to save the planet!
